Remembering Canyon…
In honor of our child, Canyon Paul Morris, we would like to run a yearly Facebook and social media campaign between the dates of October 22, the day we lost our sweet boy in 2016, to his birth date on December 5, to raise money for Beat Nb, and finding a cure for Neuroblastoma.
Canyon came into this world like a shooting star…his passion and zest for life burned bright and hot, and he was gone too soon. Canyon had an infectious smile, a constant twinkle in his eye, and a boundless energy that was difficult to harness. He never stopped moving and exploring this beautiful world of ours and he never met a person he didn’t like. Canyon had a deep intelligence beyond his years and was equally comfortable talking to kids and adults alike.
After his diagnosis, Canyon exhibited a reserve of steely strength and a mature acceptance of his situation that inspired all around him. Someone once asked him if he ever got angry about having cancer and if he ever wondered why he had to get cancer. He answered, “No, if I didn’t end up with cancer, some other kid would have gotten it instead. I am not any more special than anyone else, and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody.”
We have been searching for a way to honor our son and remember him at this difficult time of year. What better way to do that than to raise money to help find a day when no other kids have to lose their lives to this horrible disease.
