Milwaukee, WI (5/1/2018) – Gold In September® (G9) invites the MACC Fund, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc., to join forces to increase awareness of childhood cancer. One of the goals of this collaboration is to inspire Wisconsin businesses to turn their buildings gold in September, the national month for childhood cancer awareness. G9, together with the MACC Fund, are reaching out to communities and businesses across Wisconsin to join the efforts to support the fight against childhood cancer.

“G9 believes that every person, everywhere is a strategic partner in the investment of the future of our children and by combining efforts with the MACC Fund, we can make a greater impact for children battling cancer,” said Sarah Bartosz, President of G9.

“The MACC Fund’s commitment to supporting the best research to help children with cancer over four decades has always been enhanced by increasing the awareness of the need for research funding. Childhood cancer is an urgent health crisis, even for survivors. G9 and the MACC Fund recognize that private funding for global research is a critical path to cures and believe this begins with awareness.

Since the MACC Fund’s inception in 1976, it has contributed over $62 million to support childhood cancer and blood disorders research conducted in Wisconsin. The MACC Fund supports research conducted at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the MACC Fund Research Center, the MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in the UW Carbone Cancer Centers MACC Fund Childhood Cancer Research Wing, and the most recently, the Marshfield Clinic!
