“It is with extraordinary pride that G9 announces our efforts successfully raised more than $1 Million, forged new partnerships, and watered the roots of hope for children diagnosed with cancer in positive ways. 2016 was filled with with highlights from the GROW GOLD Brewers game to the Golden Celebration Gala to Governor Walker’s proclamation of September as official Childhood Cancer Awareness month in Wisconsin. We are so grateful to all the individuals, families, schools, organizations, sponsors, and communities supporting the G9 mission in an effort to change the future of childhood cancer,” says G9 President, Sarah Bartosz.

ABOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER:

Childhood cancer is an urgent health crisis, even for those who are surviving. As the leading cause of death by disease in children and adolescents in the United States (National Cancer Institute), 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not survive 5 years from diagnosis. And of the 4 that do survive, 95% will suffer long-term, potentially life-threatening side-effects. G9 believes there is hope and that surviving must mean thriving.

ABOUT GOLD IN SEPTEMBER:

G9 is a childhood cancer non-profit dedicated to increasing funding for childhood cancer research and initiatives by growing awareness that inspires action to help every child, everywhere. G9 directly funds Early Phase Trials, bringing the newest, most promising treatments to kids faster. Utilizing a noble model of turning the world gold to raise awareness and meet the mission, G9 directly benefits the entire childhood cancer community with gold alliance, resulting in increased funding and support for all childhood cancer initiatives.
