GOLD: An Evening to Beat Childhood Cancer 2019 – The Recap

Wow. What an evening. Our second annual Gold: An Evening to Beat Childhood Cancer was once again sponsored by CrossCountry Mortgage (their third year in a row title sponsoring one of our events).

HGTV's Nicole Curtis rocked the stage as our MC. Her passion for helping kids beat cancer is so real. Her foreman, Bobby Prothero, lost his daughter Tessa to neuroblastoma. He and his wife Karin were there Friday.

There were nearly a dozen families in attendance who've been affected by childhood cancer. Almost all who've participated in research we're helping to fund. And of course, another 300+ amazing folks from Tampa.

Our friend Ernest Hooper wrote a wonderful follow-up in the Tampa Bay Times - thank you.

Our Executive Director, Kyle Matthews, sang an original song along with a video put together by our Creative Director AJ Hurley. You can see that video below.

Huge thanks are owed to so many people for making the event a smashing success, and an emotionally powerful moment.

To our many incredible sponsors - who sent in real cash that is already translating to clinical trials and research for kids fighting cancer. Thank you to CrossCountry Mortgage, DEX Imaging, Ryan Callahan Foundation, Landon Outreach Foundation, Lyrics for Life, Maxwell James Oskam Foundation, Spurlino Foundation, Csenge Advisory Group, Bitesquad, CoreRX, Enstar, Florida Blue, Papa Johns, TradeStops, L.V. Thompson Family Foundation, Save the Kids Foundation, and Armature Works.

To Team Parker for Life, who donated $100,000 and appeared via video. TPFL was founded by the Shaw family, whose son Parker is beating cancer on one of the clinical trials THEY are helping to fund.

Additional thanks to sponsors Aftermath Estimating, Hyundai of New Port Richey, Tampa Bay Rays, TECO, David Maus Foundation, Pilot Bank, Weatherford Partners, Health Axis Group, Ascent Wines, Apple a Day Foundation, Embrace Home Loans, Bavaro's , Moffitt, and Dry Bar.

Thank you to our staff, AJ Hurley and Yvette Pullara, for getting this all to happen.

To our board, John Foley, Kyla Callahan, Brian Shactman, and Eric Caisse, for help growing and overseeing how we're beating cancer for kids.

And to our founder, Patrick Lacey, for his vision and leadership pushing forward a group who WILL be a major part of seeing neuroblastoma - and other childhood cancers - beaten.

Over $325,000 (net!) was raised.
