My name is Monica and I’m a 13-year-old swimmer from Durban, South Africa. I am a state record holder and was selected this year to the national squad representing South Africa at international swim meets!

I have been taking action for many years by pledging my races to Gold In September as part of the Athlete Program to help beat childhood cancer! Gold is the color for childhood cancer and September is the designated awareness month. Normally, I make gold ribbons to hand out during all my races during the season, but this year has been interrupted by COVID-19.

Cancer doesn’t stop for anything and kids are still being diagnosed, which is why I’m determined to make a difference! I ask you to join me in supporting the important work of funding research and raising awareness.

Please help by donating whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that become aware of childhood cancer and the need for safer, more effective treatments, the quicker we can get kids the treatments they need to get them back home where they belong!
