Kids – Why We Fight

Braiden-Lee Prescott

3 year old Braiden and his family are in a race against the clock! To increase his chances of beating stage 4 neuroblastoma, Braiden needs to obtain treatment that is not available in the UK. To do so, his family must raise £250,000 in two months. dailymail.co.uk.

Joshua Flores

After suffering a miscarriage, Maria and Frank Flores were thrilled about the birth of their second son, Joshua. Their joy quickly turned to horror when Joshua was born paraplegic, his body already riddled with tumors. Joshua’s cancer began and spread in the womb and he was born with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. He started chemo at only two days old. Despite his bleak prognosis, the Flores family continues to keep their faith and dream big for Joshua. komonews.com.

Unique Fundraiser for Jade Marr

In an effort to raise money for 15 months old Jane Marr, who is undergoing chemo for neuroblastoma, family friend Geoff Rohrlach is embarking on a unique journey. He has hand crafted a 70 pound wine rack and is hiking up the “M” mountain in Missoula, wine rack in tow, on Wednesday. The wine rack will then be among the many things available at a silent auction on Saturday; after Geoff assembles the rack and enjoys a glass of wine in Jade’s honor, of course! kaj18.com.

Logan takes America

With the help of the Neuroblastoma Alliance, Logan North and his dad, Ian will be headed to the US for treatment this December. Logan will be spending Christmas away from his Mom and two siblings, but will be gaining a better chance at beating NB for good! lep.co.uk.

Prayers for Princess Leyha

Leyha Bartels is fighting neuroblastoma for the second time in her short life. Now 5, she is headed to Cincinnati to receive MIBG treatment. Last week, her community raised $1,700 with a sloppy joe supper in her honor. Friends have also organized a benefit on Nov. 19th at the Rail Bar in North Platte. Families Against Neuroblastoma

After losing her 17 month old son Max to neuroblastoma, Linza Corp founded Families Against Neuroblastoma (FAN) in his honor. Recently, she opened a shop which includes an organic cafe and play area for children. Her hopes are to raise money for NB research and become a staple in her community. lynnnews.co.uk.

Cyclists Raise Money for Oscar Knox

“Wee” Oscar Knox continues to be backed by family and friends in his community. Most recently, a group cycled from Armagh to Dublin in his honor, raising £2900.00. midulstermail.co.uk.

Oscar Heads Home

Oscar Knox’s community raised the £250,000 needed to send him to America for immunotherapy treatment to help fight his neuroblastoma, but because of a problem with his heart the therapy was halted. Oscar has recovered enough to make the journey back home to Belfast, and after taking some time to regroup, his family will work with Oscar’s doctors to figure out what comes next. bbc.co.uk.
